Job Description
A forklift operator, also known as a material handler, is responsible for moving materials around a warehouse or manufacturing facility using a forklift. Their duties include: Loading and unloading: Moving materials onto and off trailers, and to and from storage areas Stacking: Stacking loads in the correct storage bays Maintaining: Performing regular maintenance on the forklift and other tools Safety: Ensuring the safety of the work area by following health and safety regulations Communication: Using radio communications to determine priorities Documentation: Completing forms and handling documentation Inventory: Keeping up to date on inventory and production records Packaging: Packaging shipments for transport Equipment checks: Inspecting machinery to determine if repairs are needed
